Review: The Right Time by Amanda Siegrist

The Right Time by Amanda Siegrist

Synopsis and Details:

From USA Today bestselling author Amanda Siegrist comes a brand new series full of humor, a sassy heroine, and a sexy, sinful hero that will sweep you off your feet.

The plan: Organize an epic birthday party without spilling the massive secret—that has nothing to do with the party.
Timeframe: Two weeks.

Plan a party? Check.
Try not to think about the man she can’t have? Check.
Suddenly accept said man’s proposal. Check.
Wait…what did Mia Carter do? There was no way she could marry Jaxson Brandt. It would never last. Nothing in her life ever does. They weren’t even dating. They couldn’t go from just friends to marriage. She’ll just have to tell him she changed her mind. If only he’d give her a chance to do so. But between planning a birthday party and trying to keep her bestie from finding out they’re getting hitched, she can’t seem to find the right time.
He’s making it his mission to show her what love is truly about—something she’d never had before. She’s just not sure it’ll be enough to convince her.

Review with Rating:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

The Right Time is the second book in the Perfect for You series and though the main characters had already been introduced in the prequel, The Wrong Brother, this book can be read as a standalone. I will also let you know that the story is written in the third person point of view which can be a turn off for some. I don’t mind 3rd POVs but I had a hard time with this story because of Mia. Despite my misgivings about her, I really did like Jaxson and I wanted to understand what he saw in Mia, because she was kind of a wreck.

Previously, Jaxson had inadvertently let it slip that he had a serious and heartfelt attraction to Mia and she freaked out. Since then, Mia had been putting space between them and Jaxson was really hurting over it. For Jaxson’s sake, I wanted him to get the happy ending that he craved but I will be honest that I never came around to team Mia. I just wasn’t able to connect with her. I get that she had history that was still hanging on her but her actions and reactions did not endear her to me. Overall, The Right Time had many cute moments and the romance was there and if friends-to-lovers romances make you swoon then this is one story that will appeal to you.

*Thank you to Amanda Siegrist for this eARC of The Right Time*

About Amanda Siegrist:

Author Amanda Siegrist

I love anything that has to do with romance. As long as there’s a happy ending, I’m a happy camper. I love baseball (Go Twins!) and creating awesome crafts. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, working in that field for several years before I became a stay-at-home mom. When I’m not hanging out with my wonderful family, I’m writing a sweet contemporary romance or a romantic suspense that keeps you guessing until the end. I have a few more amazing stories in the works.
