Review with Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Cross Waves is the second book in the Mind Hackers series and it is clear from the start that Geneva and Rolf have a history together. The exact nature of that history is not immediately explained but is slowly discovered over the course of the story. I liked that about this story because it had me guessing about what the actual cause of the animosity that simmered between them was. When forced together on a mission to find Rolf’s sister, who was also Geneva’s best friend, I thought that they were going to fight like cats and dogs. In reality, what took place though was rather surprising and very satisfactory.

There was definitely a dastardly villain at play in Cross Waves. I loved that I was aware of the thoughts and actions of the vile person responsible for what was taking place in this story. Despite being aware, I was kept guessing at the actual identity of those responsible for the plot involving the crystals. Very intriguing! There was also a sweet romance element that came with its own trials as Rolf was battling his own demons while keeping everyone else in the dark. Overall, Cross Waves was an exciting story that kept me in suspense from the start and thrilled me with its many surprises.
